Sometimes the best path to grow a family involves the kindness of others.

One important consideration when becoming a Surrogate Mother is deciding what type of carrier you would like to be. Below is a overview of the two types of surrogate options. This information should aid you in choosing your best fit.

Gestational Surrogacy

In Gestational Surrogacy (GS) the surrogate mother is not genetically related to the child she carries. Eggs are retrieved from the Intended Mother or Egg Donor and combined with the sperm of either the Intended Father or a Sperm Donor using In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). The fertilized eggs (embryos) are then transferred to the surrogate mothers uterus.

Traditional Surrogacy

In Traditional Surrogacy (TS) the surrogate mother is genetically related to the child she carries. The surrogate's own eggs are used along with the sperm from the Intended Father or a Sperm Donor using Artificial Insemination (AI).
